In 2016, the Mouassine douiria (reception apartment) was the subject of a major restoration which notably brought up to date the plasterwork and their original colors. Since November 2020, a new restoration project has been launched, this time for the woods of the douiria.

Three times a week, in the exceptional setting of the museum's douiria, the Museum of Music offers you the chance to discover Arab-Andalusian music, Al Andalous memories, Gnawa music - transported to Marrakech by caravan from sub-Saharan Africa, and Berber music, from the peaks and valleys of the High Atlas.
